Induction Chemotherapy Together with Radiation is Promising for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer Patients

Induction chemotherapy with irinotecan/gemcitabine followed by radiation and twice-weekly gemcitabine provides effective local tumor control for advanced pancreatic cancer patients with good performance status. Incorporating molecular therapies, antisense or anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents, or dual tyrosine kinase (TK) inhibitors may lead to better results.
