CW November 2002Issue Number 11 November 2002 ISSN 10593802 Black Cohosh Extract may be Safe for Menopausal Symptoms in Breast Cancer PatientsExtract from Cimicifuga racemosa, also known as black cohosh, black snakeroot, and rattlesnake root, is found to relieve menopausal symptoms. It is now demonstrated in cell culture system that this extract does not have estrogenic effect and does not stimulate estrogen-sensitive breast cancer cells to grow. It may therefore be used as a natural remedy for menopausal symptoms in breast cancer patients.
