Black Cohosh Extract may be Safe for Menopausal Symptoms in Breast Cancer Patients

Extract from Cimicifuga racemosa, also known as black cohosh, black snakeroot, and rattlesnake root, is found to relieve menopausal symptoms. It is now demonstrated in cell culture system that this extract does not have estrogenic effect and does not stimulate estrogen-sensitive breast cancer cells to grow. It may therefore be used as a natural remedy for menopausal symptoms in breast cancer patients.
