Favorable Response Rates and Good Tolerability in Metastatic Breast Cancer

In refractory metastatic breast cancer, irinotecan (Camptosar) produced response rates comparable to those reported for the FDA-approved agent capecitabine (Xeloda), but without the hand/foot syndrome common to capecitabine, and with low incidence of febrile neutropenia.
