New clinical trial results suggest that for postmenopausal women whose breast cancer has advanced while they are taking tamoxifen, the estrogen receptor downregulator fulvestrant may offer prolonged treatment response. That benefit was shown in comparisons with the aromatase inhibitor anastrozole.
