New Serotonin Antagonist Relieves Chemotherapy Emesis

Palonosetron, a novel long-acting serotonin-receptor antagonist, relieves the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy for up to 5 days. It may be a step forward in controlling chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, which affects an estimated 85% of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
