First Injectable COX-2 Inhibitor: An Effective Alternative in Pain Management

Parecoxib, the first injectable COX-2 inhibitor is currently being studied in clinical trials. While oral COX-2 inhibitors treat chronic pain and inflammation without unwanted side effects, their onset is too slow for post-surgical use. If approved, injectable parecoxib may provide physicians with an alternative mode of treating acute, post-surgical pain.
