Detection of Bladder Cancer by Survivin in Urine

An antibody-based detection of survivin may be a simple one step noninvasive method to diagnose early-stage bladder cancer or to monitor therapy effect. Survivin gene product is known to inhibit apoptosis. Overexpression of survivin is observed in many cancers and is associated with poor prognosis.
