Cell Factories for Drug Delivery

Genetically engineered cells to synthesize an anti-angiogenic protein, endostatin, are encapsulated in a polymer sphere that can be injected to tumor sites. These spheres secrete endostatin continuously and most of them survive at this site for over 4 months.
