A New Role for APC Tumor Suppressor Gene

Mutations in the gene, Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC), are responsible for familial colon cancer but also found in the early stages of sporadic colon cancer. Loss of several functions of APC can cause colon cancer. Recent studies demonstrate an additional function for APC, a crucial role during chromosome segregation.
