Motexafin Gadolinium in Brain Metastases

Motexafin gadolinium (Xcytrin®, Pharmacyclics, Inc.) is a tumor selective radiation sensitizer that has been shown to permit a less complicated method for measuring response assessment in brain metastases trials, according to a study presented at the 2001 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held in San Francisco, CA, from May 12-15, 2001.
