Angiogenesis may be beneficial or detrimental to the patient depending upon the ailment. Currently, nicotine is used as a therapeutic agent for smoking cessation and is under clinical trial for the treatment of other pathological condition. Caution should be taken in long-term use of nicotine as a therapeutic agent.
