CW August 2001Issue Number 8 August 2001 ISSN 10593802 A New Protein Marker for Brain TumorA newly identified protein factor OLIG2 is believed to be an important early protein essential for oligodendrocyte development in central nervous system and its expression has been found to be elevated in tumors of oligodendrocytic origin. This protein therefore could be used as a specific marker for these tumors.
