CW July 2001Issue Number 7 July 2001 ISSN 10593802 New Treatment Shows Promise for Liver CancersEarly results of a new treatment for inoperable liver cancer shows promising results, report researchers at the 37th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in San Francisco. The unique targeted therapy, called TheraSphere, provides radiation directly to liver tumors by delivering irradiated microscopic glass beads through a catheter placed into the femoral and hepatic arteries.
