Attenuated Adenovirus Mouth Wash for Oral Premalignant Growths

A unique strategy based on molecular abnormalities that characterize premalignant growths, an attenuated adenovirus lacking the gene encoding E1B 55kd, has been shown to have demonstrable activity when administered as a mouth wash for the treatment of premalignant oral dysplasia, according to a study presented at the 2001 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology held in San Francisco, CA.
