CW April 2002Issue Number 4 April 2002 ISSN 10593802 Immunotherapy for Prostate CancerProstatic acid phosphatase (PAP), a protein expressed specifically on prostate tissue can be used to target prostate cancer cells for immunotherapy. Delivered as a vaccine this protein can induce tumor specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, which are cytoxic to PAP-positive tumor cells.
