New Treatment for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

A combination of irinotecan and gemcitabine shows a promise in treating advance stage pancreatic cancer. The regimen is well tolerated and the treatment produced a one-year survival rate of 27%, which is greater than that reported with gemcitabine alone in previous studies.
