Volume 11Issue Number 2 February 2002 ISSN 10593802 Imatinib Like AZTOnly a small percentage of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) patients, most of them with advanced stage disease, appear to be resistant to imatinib, the new powerful treatment for CML. Mutations appear to prevent drug binding; combining the drug with other agents such as Ara-C and interferon may overcome this problem.
